There is a gap between “I need to say this” and “You need to hear this” and in that gap is a lot of room for wise choices

I’d just add that a real friend is one who tells that truth in the way you need so that you can hear it, according to their love and knowledge of you.
Lots of friends go around telling hard truths the way they need to say it rather than the way it can be heard.
