hello twitter serious q: does anyone know anything about curing dog and cat allergies? i really want to play with dogs and cats more but my eyes get itchy as shit even if i take antihistamines. i heard there are allergy shots that work over years but uh... anything faster?

I get a really bad reaction with some new cats and dogs (after literally rubbing my face on them), then if I have contact again the next day, symptoms are gone. Do you get repeat exposure with any animals?

oh huh interesting. the last one was new, i've had repeat exposures before but it's been bad every time. but this is interesting food for thought

I'll also postface my advice by saying "really bad reaction" was extremely mild, objectively speaking. I sneezed a lot and my eyes were red. No face swelling or rash or anything.

I'm also allergic to cats and have lived with them, one year a roommate had a cat and I the entire year I was like huh it's weird I seem to have a recurrent cold. It never got better :(
