hello twitter serious q: does anyone know anything about curing dog and cat allergies? i really want to play with dogs and cats more but my eyes get itchy as shit even if i take antihistamines. i heard there are allergy shots that work over years but uh... anything faster?

I used to be really allergic to dogs but I did two things at the same time and now I’m not
I did allergy shots and in about six months I was super improved
I got a hypoallergenic breed of dog and that improved my experience around all dogs
I don’t know which one helped more 🤷♂️

I did a total of a year and a half of allergy shots and my super bad seasonal and animal allergies have gone down ~90%
Now I just get sneezy for a week or two every spring.

aw hell yeah that's awesome. i tried playing with a hypoallergenic dog once but i was still allergic :/ guess that wasn't enough on its own

Yeah must be worse than mine were then :/ it’s rough out there for allergies.
