so real talk at one point i noticed i was literally not giving myself permission to perceive women, especially attractive women, because it seemed too close to staring and staring was rude or whatever. very difficult to notice any signs or signals under that constraint

there was a tweet recently from a woman saying that what makes her collapse her attention is the fear of unwanted male gaze that’s also what makes me collapse my attention: I need to avoid looking at women for more than the acceptable 0.7 seconds

This has valid biological origins. You inherited traits of caution which helped your ancestors to survive. You have to change the connections at the firmware level and that requires understanding the biological stack functions.
