TLP was maybe one of the smartest cultural critics writing when the blogosphere was still the hot new thing
He had a wonderful talent for spotting and explaining the dynamics of pathological narcissism, especially as it played out in the media and people's interactions with it

He often took a snarky and morally judgmental tone toward the narcissism inherent in many human interactions, which gave the impression that narcissism was Bad and not a natural default human condition
A fair critique but I think he mostly trained his guns on excessive cases

he mentioned he was gonna write it in an old post, seemed like a big project he was investing a lot into, at the very least it’s a culmination of an arc that’s been unresolved for years in my mind
