prior to modern science, we had “natural philosophy” and I like that framing much better
is philosophy the root of all knowledge?
Conversation
since “philosophy” literally means “love of knowledge” perhaps it is the heart of all knowledge 🧐

i think perception or maybe action is the root of all knowledge. now time to figure out what the gut and solar plexus and throat and third eye and crown of all knowledge are 🧐🧐🧐

yes perception seems like a prerequisite condition for something to be knowledge. action I hadn’t considered, but also makes sense as you could argue perception itself is an action. hmmm now I must know the chakras of knowledge!

perception is grounded in action, the brain calibrates and learns from motor outputs

Right, so this example is also a sort of an illustration of the primacy of motion. Motion provides grounding for perception by allowing comparison of two different signals; the brain can actually misinterpret sensory inputs without its ability to act -cf The brain from inside out
