especially the "don't think i'm at all interested in you" part, but in the sense that this is exactly the kind of lie a cat would tell. i think they're much softer than what they want us to believe 😌

i know i was shocked too when i found out. one day i found my cat playing really gently with a baby mouse, just smelling it and occasionally touching it really lightly with her paw and then letting it go its way. since then i've known she's a softie. also she's scared of rats

although my cat follows me when i go on walks, reaches for my hand if i stop petting her and gets on my lap like 3 seconds after i sit down, every single time. maybe she's a dog

i hear these big fluffers are the most doglike cats, sounds like a dream
and even people with avoidant attachment can learn to feel safe with someone who's secure enough 😌
