"the person as portrayed is not safe and not great
but the author does not understand the result of that personality interacting with the world and doesn't write many negative sides into story. they don't see the harms"

people who stand their ground in environments that awful have to have an edge. they often have scarring, a lot of it
but those things don't come without costs, and granny as portrayed is missing aspects she should have to not be a villain
