when i started on twitter i tried to stay at around 100 follows and i think i managed this like... up until somewhere between 2k and 5k followers

I would need to release so many mutuals for this to be viable tho

i don't think the specific numbers really matter honestly, i'm just joshing around with that 😛 more about who's gotten stale, who did you think was interesting but they're kinda just stuck on the same take over and over now, etc. etc. etc.

which just means I should be more selective to start with

actually i've lowered my cutoffs for both following and unfollowing. i don't mind taking a chance on people who look promising and then unfollowing a few days or weeks later if it doesn't seem to be working out

I feel like I’m good at the first part of that… less so at the second
this is explains why my follows are going up

it helps to remember that good tweets from nearby people will just resurface on my TL eventually so i don't really have to worry about unfollows being gone forever
