when i started on twitter i tried to stay at around 100 follows and i think i managed this like... up until somewhere between 2k and 5k followers

i don't think the specific numbers really matter honestly, i'm just joshing around with that 😛 more about who's gotten stale, who did you think was interesting but they're kinda just stuck on the same take over and over now, etc. etc. etc.
yeah I suspect there are even more than a few mutuals with whom I’d be like… wait who are you?
which just means I should be more selective to start with

actually i've lowered my cutoffs for both following and unfollowing. i don't mind taking a chance on people who look promising and then unfollowing a few days or weeks later if it doesn't seem to be working out
