i actually kinda knew someone who found themselves in this situation, found it incredibly distressing in like a deep philosophical way, and later killed themselves. idk if it was causal but… :/

i heard about this suicide at around the same time as 3 others, all of people i was sort of peripherally connected to and didn't know well. here is a thing i wrote about that (on a medium dose of acid iirc)

The disconcerting thing was that I thought he meant happiness as described in the last paragraph, which seems like a trivial thing. That he meant happiness as described in the penultimate paragraph is much more concerning.
