I’ve wanted to learn storytelling for years now. It’s the skill i most want.
Yesterday, as i was walking through the market listening to someone tell me about his last love, i had the most obvious realisation:
Storytelling is the most natural skill. All we do is tell stories

I’ve had this belief I’m not a good storyteller. But the more we talked, the more i realised we were just exchanging the stories we’d weaved.
He told me the stories he’d come up with to explain his life, I did the same and they were both phenomenal feats of storytelling

So now I’m convinced storytelling is one of the skills that I’ve practiced the most. I’m also convinced that I’m a pretty good storyteller… after all *waves hands around at life*

the main thing in storytelling is the courage to tell the truth
everything else is logistics; secondary

and I believe most people are capable of this but they seldom rise to the occasion bc they get all caught up in what they think good writing is supposed to be, what an author or a writer is supposed to be. we are a storytelling species!! we tell each other stories every moment!!!
