watching as good as it gets (1997) on netflix. it’s a different universe somehow, i feel like there are little inferences i keep missing about what’s happening. but also every character is like one layer more emotionally honest than what i’m used to which is lovely

jack nicholson’s character is such an impressively selfish little baby. i guess i’m used to him playing characters that are more… put together? intimidating? here he’s just pretty explicitly pathetic
i like helen hunt’s face when she feels touched by something jack said but i don’t buy for a second that they have any physical chemistry and the kisses feel really off to me. welp. can’t have everything
