And if you get away from it for a while it can feel like everyone is doing this -- leading you to suspect everyone -- a very alienating feeling. To some degree it's true, so there's enough to catch on

I certainly know I can have that effect on people -- and there's an entire framework for figuring out how to not do that in a way that harms others (stay away from some people; examine my feelings on X instead of intent; pause or break to give room to consider; don't Want a lot)
