i think there are some interesting parallels between an incompetent and sclerotic bureaucracy and a depressed person. including the part that is like "obviously we can't just easily solve our problems because that would look deeply embarrassing"

How about room ventilation and cost effective air conditioning/heating? Persian room cooling could see a renaissance. After all, a stable ideal temperature for living spaces is literally beneath our feet with only minimal ongoing energy costs.

This seems like such a distraction though. OK so now we have more shit being stored in the yards. How does that change anything other than less boats floating? No rail car being sent from east to pick up still. Big companies would still rather pay the port to store than pick up
