had a conversation yesterday with a career manager who's become a friend over the years, and asked for her advice on how to free myself (STILL) from this Job Thing, and she basically said people would kill to be in my position and it's unthinkable that I'd voluntarily give it up.

she was aghast that I even imagined extricating myself. it looks like I'm not getting out of the Job Thing unless I do something silly. so I took the day off and painted all day bc everything is extremely ridiculous and stress is bad and sometimes there's nothing you can do.
