some years ago a rationalist told me about a book whose basic thesis was something like "anyone can learn math" and iirc it sort of discussed strategies for getting better at learning math, very growth-mindsetty. that ring a bell for anyone? maybe?

thank you, that's the one! i was going to add "pretty sure the author was a woman" but i wasn't sure if i was confusing it with drawing on the right side of the brain

JUMP Math is a program for grade school that breaks the steps of learning math stuff WAY tinier than anyone who already grokked it would naively imagine
Some results: everyone acing standardized tests, 1y after previous avg of 54th percentile

I don't know what you're talking about, but I'm glad you tagged me because if such a book exists, it is extremely relevant to my interests, and I want to read it ASAP.

Also, I feel [fist pump] that I'm living my life in such a way that...
"'anyone can learn math' and iirc it sort of discussed strategies for getting better at learning math, very growth-mindsetty."
...vaguely associates with Eli.

Methinks that 'mathematics' comes from Greek that means something like '(the) learnable (art)'.
