really a goddamn shame that golden compass was saddled with a terrible live action movie when the correct way to adapt it for the screen was obviously a delightful yet moving studio ghibli / hayao miyazaki romp

i sincerely hope this is good because writing this thread helped me realize i have extremely strong feelings about his dark materials, like it was actually responsible for shaping 1/3 of my soul or something as a teenager

I’ve watched all of them so far, I thought it was good overall, but maybe there are some flaws.
