you know how we can't really measure what we really want in business or life so we pick crappy proxy metrics, measure those, call it good enough?
Yeah what we want is health, happiness, power, self-determination, etc.
what we measure is status, money, & job title

my read on QC's suggestion is that in some (many?) social environments, standing, status, and stature are the only assurances of dignity
