wait how the shit does anyone ever acquire or get rid of a refrigerator? they look both too heavy to carry and potentially too large to fit through doors???

oh, dollies, of course. we used a dolly yesterday. dollies are the greatest piece of technology i've interfaced with in awhile. so helpful. so reliable. amazing

they're mostly empty space, surprisingly light
weight is on the bottom so v easy to move with a dolly
biggest challenge is keeping it upright so the refrigerant doesn't get scared and run away

They are actually not that heavy! And when you buy a new one, very often the providing company offers to take the old one with the delivery.

If need be, the doors come off. The houses and the refrigerators. Also, in my experience a lot of fridges will *just barely* fit through a standard doorframe without having to disassemble anything. But they're a huge pain to move nonetheless.

iirc the problem isnt the refrigerant but the oil also yeah they recommend leaving it upright after moving it for a few hours to let the viscous oil get back where it needs to go

they definitely fit through doors and idk you've been to college right I assume that means you carried sofas on stairs, fridges are similar

Our electrical company will come and collect an old fridge and pay you $50; if yours won’t, Lowe’s or Home Depot will send dudes and a truck to remove one for ~$20
