we learned in 2020 that a college education didn't successfully teach anyone how to think and a shocking amount of real intellectual work comes from autodidacts fucking around on social media

this example is wildly off base. US Senator is an insanely powerful position to be in—look at how Joe Manchin basically holds the country by the balls!
And lobbying is actually much more gender balanced than the US senate…
