what if believing stuff that's really controversial is good for your immune system

tbc the mechanism i have in mind is just that believing controversial stuff is fun and having fun is good for your immune system

it's an interesting alternative medicine confounder 🤔 potentially almost all of the benefit of alternative medicine is that it is more fun than western medicine and this could be good and important actually

going to a hospital? negative fun
learning about herbs and feeling like a witch? extremely fun
food for thought

tricky bit is that having fun is good for your immune system but having fun *for the immune benefits* probably makes it a bit less fun; you're sort of co-opting the fun into an anxiety loop about your health

I used to think scientific medicine just needed to find traditional medicine's active ingredients, but was told the care is different. Now I think the tragedy is that if something provably works, traditional medicine practitioners are outlawed from using it
