It’s interesting that women are more wrong about this even though men bore the brunt of the industrial revolution’s hardships.

There’s a really cool book called the age of revolutions by Eric Hobsbawm, it totally changed my attitude towards the industrial revolution, highly recommended! I learned so much about it, ie the Atlantic slave trade and the ensuing surplus of cotton was a necessary precondition

Very sad history but it’s so illuminating and I think we are so shaped by the industrial Revolution (and the contemporaneous liberal French Revolution) in ways beyond our ability to fathom!!
