so i don't buy this and the reason i don't buy this is that it doesn't happen at parties. at a good party you get happier as the night goes on, not sadder. i think the real reason is that we're supposed to be surrounded by our tribe at night and often aren't, except at parties

I'm pretty sure this is science* but it's definitely not the only factor, and in the presence of stimulation is a very weak one *something I read once that seemed legit and will be happy if it turns out it's false

idk about "false" exactly but like... the implied framing, if you completely ignore the neurochemistry, is that there's like a "neutral" night and whatever happens to you on a night like that is the "neutral" outcome
