i think the term "man-child" has a lot to offer once you stop seeing it as automatically derogatory and start seeing it as a more neutral description, or even as - god forbid - a potential cause for empathy

Oh man just heard about Aubrey. I met him a couple times alone myself and though I had cause for significant disagreement with him, he never struck me as having a harmful bone in him. There was indeed a manchildishness to him, but in the best sense of the word. Honest to a fault.

Don't know the women involved but the accusations seem to be about tone more than anything concrete.
Imo life extension fundraising is a far more manipulative enterprise in itself than this apparent awkward joking with women on a campus work environment.
