If I had to guess, "more well-designed studies around this phenomenon would be good" isn't something that he'd disagree with. Nor does it really bear repeating. Theoretical speculation is second to empirical results but still useful (or at least interesting)

If empirical results exist but are limited to "this phenomenon exists" then the same blog post will be written. Better would obviously be empirical results which shed light on mechanisms
