seeing more math on the TL recently. i haven't mathposted in a long time but i'm still happy to field math questions from twitter peeps, just reply here or tag me or w/e. big meaty philosophical questions like "wtf are real numbers anyway" would be particularly fun for me rn

With the goal of better representing the concepts themselves, or of making math more intuitive at a glance, if you could re-invent any part of standard mathematical notation, where would you start?

this is not a reinvention, the idea goes back several decades, but i a, a big fan of string diagram notation for linear algebra - you won’t need it in a first course but for dealing with tensor products and duals it’s very pretty and elegant
