is it just me or did people used to talk about their consciences and now they've kinda stopped? was this never really a thing? did i just pick it up from a few movies or something?

People, imo, no longer talk about conscience because they don't feel ethics has a place in their life.
I see this in how people act in stores (trashing it in ways they wouldn't if they were in an acquaintances) and in various arguments (political/economic/etc)...

where they say ethics has no place in these things and actively disregard ethical repercussions for things, except when it's others who are rightfully accused of these ethical failings.

Interesting. Yeah I think people used to say that often when I was younger but I can’t remember the last time I heard some one mention it.
I feel like the terms morality, ethics and consciousness have filled that gap for most people - could Be wrong 🤷♂️
