tbh at first i had a visceral negative response to QC's thread which totally comes from growing up up poor and has nothing to do with him. once i got over myself i was in awe of the honesty and honest introspection in that thread and yours. it learned a lot and i am grateful

whoa thank you for sharing. that totally makes sense and i kinda knew that was gonna happen. part of why i wasn't looking forward to writing it. but benefits seemed worth the costs

Not saying caroline30 is saying this. But there’s a general meme or point of view that “first world problems” don’t matter or that if your life is financially better than others you shouldn’t worry because of comparison, but in some ways these are the things that matter more!

Yes we need a baseline of sustance, security and basic human needs. But people should be seeking to self actualise. You may only have one worry when you’re starving but we should aim for excellence not just better in comparison. It sucks people have hard life’s.

Lives* but if you wanna help people you should improve as well. And yeah I also had an initial gut reaction about the 100k, but it’s not like that matters or lessens your hardships. That is infact the actual problem. Resentment is coming from cultural social influences...
