watch my hero academia and think "man it would be cool if i had superpowers" because it's less painful than thinking "man it would be cool if i lived in a dorm with my friends and we had teachers who mentored us and taught us things that mattered about helping people"

like fucking christ i don't feel like this should be asking for too much but i think this thing literally doesn't exist in 2021 and anyone claiming to do it is de facto running a cult and any attempt to make it happen de facto turns into a cult

I forget who said it, but it's stuck in my head - Half the reason folks romanticize college is because it's the last time most folks lived in dense, walkable neighborhoods focused on providing community during plentiful off-hours. Like, that could just be how we build cities.
