like fucking christ i don't feel like this should be asking for too much but i think this thing literally doesn't exist in 2021 and anyone claiming to do it is de facto running a cult and any attempt to make it happen de facto turns into a cult

I got my first taste of this (~getting to work non-replaceably on real projects - a lower bar than heroism, but it did scratch the itch) working on theater productions in high school, then college.

Should we change the stories? Are there natural opportunities for heroism that come up that we deny them? I don't like the fact that for someone to be a hero there has to be a threat to fight against... I want it to be okay for everything to be just okay...
