update: my sleep got much worse after not using the oral appliance for a week or so, so now i’m using it again + doing a lot of jaw stretches on the bright(er) side, gave me the last push to try taping my mouth for sleep and it has been *shockingly* good

it looks like the oral appliance i was using to treat my sleep apnea is causing temporomandibular joint issues so i'm gonna stop using it. now i have to deal with joint issues *and* sleep apnea :/ anyone have recs? apparently there are tongue exercises i can do???

like i regularly wake up feeling actually rested now, maybe 30-50% of the time as opposed to like once a year. outrageously strong effect, i wouldn’t have believed it until i tried it. has a thread about this somewhere i’m too lazy to link if you want more info

Surgical tape is a better solution. I have to tap it a few times with my fingers to make it less sticky. Remember that lips have the thinnest layer of skin. Don’t want to be irritating them with chemicals and accidentally peeling bits off 🙈
