it looks like the oral appliance i was using to treat my sleep apnea is causing temporomandibular joint issues so i'm gonna stop using it. now i have to deal with joint issues *and* sleep apnea :/ anyone have recs? apparently there are tongue exercises i can do???
Conversation
the doctor who tested me for sleep apnea said i had an "unusually large tongue" that was blocking my throat and apparently tongue exercises can help strengthen the tongue so it stays up at night more easily? i have no idea why no one told me this when i was looking earlier

sent me this video and it's blowing my mind although i haven't fact-checked anything. apparently the tongue is supposed to be resting on the soft palate??? apparently tongue posture can affect how hot your face looks???

it was originally intended to be about the influence on facial features in developing children, but mr dentist happily took money to coach guys who don't bother to read the whole article

oh that's unfortunate. well i'm still getting something out of experimenting with my tongue posture just for improving my breathing so if this treats my sleep apnea i guess i don't care too much about the facial features

whatever kernel of truth might exist in the m*wing idea is outdone by all the bullshit that the creator piled on top of it. But good on ya for trying to sus out the cool kernel. Baby and bathwater and whatnot
