Curious from bigger accounts how their twitter experience is different now compared to when they were < 5000

like count becomes a weirder signal, more about "virality" even in a mild sense and less about the quality of the tweet in some abstract sense. i can usually predict which of my tweets will get a lot of likes but no RTs because they aren't "viral" in the right way

Wait... People actually care how many likes or rts they get, even after having real careers? 😱😱🤣😂

i don't have a real career 😅 i use it as a (very noisy) way to gauge how much sense i'm making or how much people relate to what i'm saying. DMs are a much better but much sparser signal. replies are sort of in between

I thought you were also a psychologist, professionally, for some reason, though I knew media had become your thing 🤣
Genuinely curious, you think a high level of engagement is an indicator you make sense? I would almost argue the opposite nowadays.
I'm a laborer though /shrug

it's a *very noisy* indicator!
This is an even more noisy indicator, and feel free to disregard, but... I tend to like things I obviously agree with, or shockingly change my mind.
I tend to think about the "best tweets" for several minutes, and then find the like button disappeared from my timeline. 🤣😂
