vaguely convinced that every 59th minute of the hour is a liminal timespan

I feel this way about the 57th

3 x 19 prime does feel very magical and ethereal

in mathematics we have a legend of a time when grothendieck (a famously abstract mathematician) was once asked for an example of a prime and he replied “okay, take 57”
to this day we call 57 the grothendieck prime
I was actually about to say that both 57 and 59 were prime numbers but stopped to look it up, it really really does SEEM prime yet is not... a very liminal quality

fun primality test: just test every prime number less than the square root of the numbers in question
in this case, just 2, 3, 5, 7
57 is divisible by 3 (sum of digits is 12 is divisible by 3)
59 is not, nor 5, nor a multiple of 7, is prime
