to ppl who read lots of books: how do u remember what you’ve read??? I can’t remember p much anything in a book unless I’ve read it recently or 2+ times.

i read books about stuff that matters to me a lot and then the remembering happens automatically. sometimes i take notes but i don't have an easy smooth workflow for doing this so very rarely. discussing with other people is great
oh, posting twitter threads where i quote excerpts is also pretty helpful, b/c then parts of the book end up in my (extensive) memory of my own tweets, which are also searchable
