This is not a direct response to the question, but I want to say that this deserves way more attention.
What you describe was my experience too, and it's PRECISELY that feeling of shame and fear around my sexuality which made PUA so appealing.

A PUA guru was the first person to send me the message that it's not necessarily a shameful, offensive thing to be attracted to and desiring of women. That women might even enjoy my attention and desire for them. Sounds ridiculous, but this was revelatory for me.

PUA has its problems of course, and getting into it didn't resolve those core pains/fears, but it was the first time I'd been made to feel as if my sexuality was ok, rather than violent, aggressive, or obnoxious in some way.
Not all guys grow up feeling like this, but plenty do.
