I notice that I’m a lot more inclined to post my own content than to retweet things. But I’m not exactly sure why. Do people like to browse someone’s profile and see the retweets? Do they like seeing signal-boosted stuff? It feels a bit to me like clutter, but I could be wrong!

i don’t like most people’s RTs because they’re bad. good RTs are good! but people put surprisingly little thought into them imo
yeah people aren’t internalizing the cost of spamming other people’s timelines, i don’t like it. i’m very picky about what i RT and have RTs turned off for a bunch of my follows

You can disable retweets for individual accounts but it's a bit fiddly (I do it every time a retweet annoys me though) - would happily flip a global switch to disable them though.
