i feel like my thoughts are still glancing around the circumference of some kind of heart we’re trying to get at, to which u keep calling us back, Jon, but since this thread began i’ve been pondering what i’m gonna call the performance-channeling continuum

performance, a kind of ritual, is an entry for going deeper into channeling, and self-consciousness is a limiting factor for depth in fully embodying whatever’s on the table (or on the altar)

this brings to mind the importance of setting a container or scene in which to unselfconsciously let oneself embody something new, something that may not even feel like it was a part of oneself until the moment of being asked

Masks are amazing for "losing yourself" to smthg else. Also for helping with self-consciousness. Also for letting the primary storytelling vehicle/engine/energy come from below or above the 6th chakra (which we lean on too much in our society to the detriment of the rest)
