The frame that I’m currently infatuated with in my personal life and am thus oversharing with everyone else is that most bad moves aren’t anywhere as bad as we (well, some of us) tend to assume they are, dissonant notes can be musical in retrospect once we contextualize them

this is a big thing in go - a really important component of evaluating a move is evaluating how well it flows with all the moves you’ve made so far, and will make in the future. more so than in chess i think (not speaking from experience tho)

yeah, even the different pieces (all identical in go, differentiated in chess) suggests more of a flow in one and more... maybe "atomization" in the other
