finishing weaning an accidentally acquired benzodiazepine dependency (not something safe to just quit!), and more. And I'm not out of the woods yet. Part of why I've been hesitant to talk about this is the attitude in spiritual circles that ~teachers~ must be pure and perfect.

This attitude isn't doing anything but holding us back. There's no path that you can't come back to the mountain from. The frame I put on what I've been through is shamanic illness. In the hells I've spent time in, I have found treasures for my people -- if I can return to them.

I left Twitter because I was overwhelmed by the incompatible tasks of recovering my health and offering my services. But I need to. Connecting with people is a vital part of reemerging into the world, and I cannot offer anyone anything -- or survive, myself -- if I can't do that.
