two questions, tryna see something: 1) when your parents set rules growing up, did they feel justified more like "because we said so" or more like "these are the universally correct rules you need to follow or else"? or sth else? 2) what race are your parents?

This is a shitty descriptor because my parents were avoiding poverty by a modest margin and my pal's parents bought him an apartment after paying his way though a top finance school and those are both "middle class"

said so, indian, and i'm still not actually sure what class we are (family business, made more money than white collar professionals at some points, but squandered with blue collar financial habits)

1) both? like, universally correct in a sense that they got their parenting advice from evangelicals and those are universal correctness stuff, but a few were presented in a said-so way but ultimately i'd still say universally correct 2) white, poorish lower-middle class
