1) when your parents set rules growing up, did they feel justified more like "because we said so" or more like "these are the universally correct rules you need to follow or else"? or sth else?

1) I don't think I've had much of either. Some rules like "not more than X mins of screen time" and "do not hit other kids" but most 'rules' were usually reasonable and explained.
