fyi i am personally very uncomfortable with all the recent focus on asian-american racism or whatever. it smells manufactured somehow? i can't believe i've become this paranoid but i assume it's only happening now because someone in power decided it was in their interest now

friend brought up this point and i am intrigued by the idea although idk how to tell one way or the other: this may in part be a counter to recent attempts to paint asian as white. as in, if anti-asian racism is real, then asians can't possibly be white

tbc not denying that asian-americans have real race-related problems but none of the discourse i've seen about those problems from bluechecks or whoever has felt the slightest bit relevant to my actual life

“Asian hate crime wave” is largely just a way for vaguely leftish people to discuss crime without seeming conservative.
Crime is bad, and it’s good that vaguely leftish people can still convince themselves of that.
