fyi i am personally very uncomfortable with all the recent focus on asian-american racism or whatever. it smells manufactured somehow? i can't believe i've become this paranoid but i assume it's only happening now because someone in power decided it was in their interest now

friend brought up this point and i am intrigued by the idea although idk how to tell one way or the other: this may in part be a counter to recent attempts to paint asian as white. as in, if anti-asian racism is real, then asians can't possibly be white

tbc not denying that asian-americans have real race-related problems but none of the discourse i've seen about those problems from bluechecks or whoever has felt the slightest bit relevant to my actual life

Yes, but it could be Asians in power trying to push back against their group being "read as white" increasingly often. And there have been a spate of incidents to report on recently.

It's true that there is a group that's more aligned with fighting racism against asian people and a group that's more aligned with fighting racism against black people and your friends mostly belong to the latter group

it would in fact be in the interest of people experiencing an increase in hate crimes for the racism to stop

I hate that I am now suspicious of claims of racism.
Something that is naturally repugnant to us, is now being used as a political and media tool.
It’s wretched, that we have been put in this position where we now automatically doubt these claims.

From my perspective mostly outside the system it doesn't look manufactured per se, but an emergent property, a set of feedback loops and attractors, accelerating eddies
