wow this looks really cool, and, speaking just about my own personal hangups, i would be very uncomfortable attempting to write a similar "date me" page for myself 😬 v v uncomfortable with describing myself, esp. as having positive qualities

Oh man, @uncatherio's Date Me website is so excellent. I love this genre of thing: people putting themselves out there, saying clearly and publicly that they want a partner, and knowing who they are and what they're looking for. paper.dropbox.com/doc/catherios-

not because i think i only have negative qualities - it's more like i don't want to make promises i can't keep eg "QC is friendly" idk most of the time, not always? is that a thing i can say and feel 100% comfortable i mean it? i certainly can't promise it

every positive descriptor i can think of, i can also think of plenty of times i've been the opposite, so... what does it even mean for me to describe myself as "funny" or "warm" or "curious" or "accepting" when i know i can easily be none of those things?

the main thing i can think of to write that would *not* feel like making a promise i can't keep is to tell stories about myself that i feel like reveal something about my character - those stories definitely happened, at least? idk

older and less thought out articulation of what feels gendered to me about this but maybe i am just wrong given the poll results

been really enjoying people riffing off of this topic, here's my own riff: the internet is a feminine medium and dating apps structurally can't showcase masculine qualities on masculine terms twitter.com/QiaochuYuan/st…
