was thinking the other day about how "qi" / "ki" / "prana" all mean both "breath" and "life / spirit / soul" and how i didn't know a similar word in english
but there *is* a similar word in latin and it's "anima"

I believe it is thought to originally refer to strong winds and thunder, so not quiiiite the same, but similar.
a word meaning 'hidden power' (the thing that animates living creatures but also something like the wind with no obvious source) that comes to mean smth more over time
