pet peeve: "repressed memories aren't a real thing"
when I was 18, I suddenly remembered *the entire third grade*
what do you want me to call that???
Conversation
I would just skip over it before. Didn't know it was missing, just went from 2nd grade to 4th with no memory of my teacher or friends or any of what happened. The memories were there until puberty-ish and then (I imagine because of the stress) I just.... Forgot.

Most of what I remembered has now been verified by other people. So ???? Why is there all this shit out there saying repressed memories aren't a thing? What's their theory for my experience???

I love how Dan Brown presents this informal case study on resolving (or ruling out) disorganized attachment first before doing anything that looks like trauma processing, based on his experience as an expert witness in multiple lawsuits pic.twitter.com/sPFZwaXhyOpic.twitter.com/sPFZwaXhyO twitter.com/QiaochuYuan/st…
