increasingly suspecting that context collapse is the internet’s actual worst feature. we just should not have this much access to the conversations of other people. many different conversations need to be had in many different *separate* venues

forums but literally private. i would go into more detail but it would involve explaining what hot-button issue i’m subtweeting :X

actually here is a p good old blog post that basically lays it out:
well, i grew up mostly on tiny forums, well below dunbars number in active users
and tbh, the smaller the better. on big forums stuff tends to get buried in the deluge. too fast to have proper discussions
