the funny part is he isn't the main character but he arguably should've been. he's more likable, more charming, has a better character arc, has a better love story

squall's limit breaks are shit like "i'm gonna make a beam of light tall enough to see from space to smite my enemies with" and laguna's single limit break is "what if i shot them but, like, more than usual" and honestly it's very cute

i played FF8 when i was 14 or something so it has permanent nostalgia value for me i simply cannot evaluate it neutrally lol
I mean I tried singing along with it and I suddenly broke down crying in the middle (and not because of how bad I am at singing (very)) because of the Emotions that were apparently buried there so Believe Me, I Understand.
